Landscape of Technician repairing an air motor

Air Preparation Equipment

Clean, dry, and properly lubricated air is essential for the reliable performance of pneumatic air line systems.

Air line equipment is vital in a range of industrial automation systems where air pressure is used to power, control, and operate tools and machinery. Pneumatic systems must address issues related to air contamination, inconsistent pressure delivery, and insufficient lubrication. These factors can lead to equipment failure, reduced efficiency, and increased maintenance costs.

MacScott Bond has extensive experience with air motors and works with multiple manufacturers, each offering distinct benefits. We proudly offer an extensive range of pneumatic equipment and components from Ross Controls® as part of our air line equipment supplies.

Filtration

Pneumatic filters remove contaminants such as dust, oil, and water vapour from compressed air before it enters sensitive equipment. Clean air improves the longevity and efficiency of actuators, valves, and other components.

Regulators

Pressure regulators maintain a consistent output pressure despite minor fluctuations in upstream air pressure or flow conditions. This is essential in ensuring precise and safe operation of pneumatic tools and machinery.

Lubrication

Lubricators introduce a controlled quantity of oil into compressed air, which helps to reduce wear on internal components and extend the service life of the equipment. They are particularly useful in high-speed applications where friction can degrade performance over time.

Combination FRLs

Pneumatic Filter, Regulator, and Lubricator (FRL) assemblies clean compressed air, maintain consistent pressure, and introduce a fine oil mist to improve the durability and efficiency of downstream pneumatic equipment. Combination FRL units are a popular choice in manufacturing and automation environments by offering an all-in-one solution to air preparation.

Combination FRLs

These kits treat compressed air to remove water, oil, and debris from the air lines before reaching your pneumatic components and causing damage. These systems also add appropriate lubrication and control the pressure/flow, ensuring that pneumatic components are receiving the optimal, clean compressed air required for your application. With such a wide range of options, if you need help sizing the right clean air system to meet your flow demands, please get in touch with our Loanhead sales team.

A History in Pneumatics

MacScott Bond has been supplying air motors in the UK since the early days of our company in the 1970s.  Through our experience with air motors, we have seen that the best way of improving your pneumatic components’ life and reducing maintenance costs overall is to prepare the air flowing through them.

MacScott Bond holds a stock of Ross Controls’ Filter, Regulator, Lubricators, which have been sized to match requirements for the Globe air motors in our range. If you have an air motor application, remember to ask MacScott Bond about the rest of the pneumatic circuit and we will be able to supply an appropriate FRL assembly.
