BlastWrap
BlastWrap is made from two laminated films, the lower one is thermo-formed into cavities or pockets which contain blast attenuating materials. These materials include perlite ( a volcanic bead) and a blend of flash suppressing and extinguishable powders.
The top film is sealed onto the lower film forming a durable, flexible and configurable product that can be wrapped around or conform to any shape.
BlastWrap? is the core product. It is a material that can be used on its own and from which protection products are built to save lives, reduce explosion damage and protect valuable assets.
Key Features
- •The top film is sealed onto the lower film forming a durable, flexible and configurable product that can be wrapped around or conform to any shape.
- •BlastWrap? is the core product. It is a material that can be used on its own and from which protection products are built to save lives, reduce explosion damage and protect valuable assets.
- •BlastWrap? technology works indoors or out, vented or unvented, wet or dry, clean or dirty, intact or damaged and against strong or weak blasts from solid explosives or flammable liquids.
- •Features:
- •- light, durable and compact means it can be utilised in circumstances where weight and space are important
- •- requires no wires, electricity, detection devices or sensors
- •- customisable and easy to retrofit, adaptable without losing effectiveness
- •- no shelf life limitation, requires no maintenance and easy to use
- •- can be constructed with additional environmental or specific blast conditions (e.g. weather or moisture barriers, durability layers or dust-free layers)
- •- can be produced with armour (Kevlar, Spectra etc.) for ballsitic and/or fragment threats
- •- rapidly quenches blasts, suppresses post-blast fires and ignition of spilled flammable liquids and leaking vapours
- •- neither contains nor creates hazardous fragments
- •- environmentally friendly, non-toxic core materials
- •- prevents sympathetic detonation, in which one explosion triggers another explosion and another in a chain reaction that rapidly becomes a mass detonation
